About Love Your Flock

Love Your Flock was created from a simple truth: backyard flocks deserve attentive, knowledgeable care — and their humans deserve real peace of mind when they can’t be home. As a longtime chicken keeper and wildlife photographer, I’ve spent years observing animals, understanding their behavior, and creating a life centered around compassion for the creatures we share our world with.

After caring for my own flock and meeting so many local chicken keepers who struggle to find trustworthy help, I realized just how big the need is for dedicated flock care. Not every pet sitter understands backyard flocks — their routines, their vulnerabilities, their personalities — and that’s where Love Your Flock comes in.

This service was built to offer something simple but rare: someone who truly gets flocks. Someone who knows the difference between a content cluck and a stressed one, who notices when a latch is loose, who can read flock dynamics and keep everyone safe, calm, and comfortable.

Whether you’re away for a weekend or an extended trip, we make sure your birds receive the same gentle, attentive care we give our own. From secure coop checks and daily wellness observations to personalized routines and plenty of kindness, your flock is in capable, and loving hands.

Hervé Breuil
Animal Care Advisor
Hervé is an experienced animal care professional with over 14 years of hands-on work in farmed animal rescue and rehabilitation. He spent seven years as an animal caregiver and the past seven as the Shelter Director at a well-known farmed animal sanctuary in the Hudson Valley, where he has overseen the health and well-being of thousands of farmed animals.
As an advisor to Love Your Flock, Hervé brings invaluable knowledge of flock behavior, injury prevention, wellness protocols, and individualized care strategies. He has worked closely with veterinarians, prosthetists, and animal care teams to develop and implement thoughtful, evidence-based care plans. His background also includes extensive training of animal caregivers, emergency response coordination, and public education on the needs of farmed animals.
Originally from France, Hervé has been a committed animal advocate since 2001. His leadership and deep care expertise help ensure that Love Your Flock maintains the highest standards in backyard flock support—always rooted in compassion, trust, and respect for every bird.
