Love Your Flock is a professional backyard flock care service based in New York's Hudson Valley. We offer in-home visits, wellness checks, consultations, and support for backyard flocks. We focus on compassionate, knowledgeable, and customized care—because every bird matters.

We currently offer: • Routine flock care visits (feeding, watering, egg collection, coop spot-cleaning) • New flock consultations • Wellness check-ins • Nail and beak trims (non-invasive) • Emergency care coordination • Vet transport (for established clients)

No. We are not veterinarians and do not provide medical treatment or diagnosis. However, we do offer non-medical support like monitoring and coaching, administering prescribed medications (with prior written consent), and emergency coordination if veterinary care is needed.

We currently serve parts of Ulster, Dutchess, Putnam, Sullivan, Columbia, Greene, Orange, Rockland and Westchester Counties in New York — as well as some parts of northern New Jersey. Yes! We offer scheduled care visits at your place while you're away. All new clients must complete a flock intake form and a pre-visit so we can meet your birds and understand your setup.

Our founder has over 5 years of experience raising chickens from hatchlings into adulthood. Our animal care advisor, Hervé, brings over 14 years of experience, including 7 years as a rescued farm animal caregiver and 7 years as Shelter Director of a nationally respected farm animal sanctuary. Compassionate, informed care is at the core of everything we do.

We do not provide services to operations raising birds for meat or neglecting basic care. Our intake form will help determine if we’re the right fit.

If your vet prescribes medication and you provide written consent and clear instructions, we can administer oral meds, topical treatments, or injections as trained laypersons—not as a substitute for veterinary care.

You can authorize us to act on your behalf in an emergency. We’ll attempt to contact you first, and if unreachable, we’ll follow the care agreement, including a pre-approved spending limit for veterinary care and transportation.
