Flock Caregiver
Love Your Flock caregivers provide attentive, knowledgeable care for backyard flocks when their owners are away. Our caregivers are calm, observant, reliable, and genuinely invested in the wellbeing of the birds entrusted to them.
What the work involves

Love Your Flock caregivers visit clients’ homes to ensure their flocks are healthy, safe, and comfortable while owners are away. Typical responsibilities include:

Feeding and refreshing water for birds, collecting eggs

Observing flock behavior and noting any signs of illness or injury

Securing coops and runs to protect birds from predators

Opening and closing coops as needed

Providing occasional basic first aid (training provided)

Sending updates to flock owners after visits

Reporting concerns or unusual observations promptly

Visits typically last 45–60 minutes, depending on the flock and property.

Ideal Candidates

This role may be a good fit for someone who is:

Attentive and detail-oriented

Calm and confident around animals

Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather

Reliable and able to follow care instructions carefully

Interested in learning more about backyard flock health and behavior
Experience with chickens, farm animals, veterinary work, or animal care is helpful but not always required.
